Tee's summer must-haves

Number seven
A plain white T

There is no item of clothing quite like a quality white t-shirt. It is the most versatile and classic piece, and one can never have to many. Pair it with jeans, denim shorts, a high waisted skirt, jeggings, or throw it over your bikini on the beach. The quality of the fabric is very important, as is the neckline. This season, the wider and lower scoop neck is great. Don't layer anything underneath, shear and soft lines skimming off the skin is much more beautiful. Kept plain and simple, the white T is a statement in itself, otherwise add a long delicate pendant necklace for a bit of detail. This season, locally in Cape Town, i love Chapel's new white T's and abroad you can never go wrong with American Apparel.

Tee's summer must-haves

Number six
Gladiator flats

The shoe to be wearing all day every day for the rest of summer. Comfortable, chic and and with infinite amounts of styles, colours and details to choose from. I recently purchased a chocolate brown pair with gold studs in London, that i wear to death! i love studs, zippers and lots of buckles. Giuseppe Zanotti makes awesome flats (the gold ones pictured) as well as Steve Madden (the black studded ones). Gold, brown, black, you name it, its cool, It will look great with any outfit. And they look better and better each time you put them on :)

Number five

Summer make-up

For summer day make-up, a dewy, fresh bronzed skin with minimal foundation looks great! skip the eyeshadow, heavy foundation and powder and opt rather for a tinted moisturizer, brush on a bit of bronzer or light peach blush on the apples of your cheeks, a slick of mascara and a pinky/peach lip balm and you're ready to go.

if you're brave and in that summer mood, get a brightly coloured liquid liner in blue, green or purple, and do a thin line over the tops of your eyelids. Shape those eyebrows and when heading into the evening, a bright coral lip shade is perfect for summer nights out.

Number three and four
Headbands and wavy hair

Ditch the hair straighteners for summer ladies. Wavy hair and a few loose curls are what's hot for summer. The aim is to look effortless, natural and slightly windswept :) Hair gets longer, and more care free... to add to this great look, pop on a headband. My favourites are flowers, gold and leather. There is no kind of bad hair day, that a beautiful headpiece can't fix.

Number two
The maxi dress

The maxi dress returns this summer and is a wardrobe staple, particularly for those living on the coast. This versatile beauty takes you from morning shopping in the city, to an afternoon on the beach, to cocktails along the beachfront. I love strapless ones in a single colours, purple or watermelon are my favs.
Halternecks in floaty fabrics with tie-die or floral prints are great as well. Pair one or two elements, such as a pair of gladiators, a headband or a long necklace, keep it simple...

Number one
The statement ring

i love this leather and gold ring by House of Harlow 1960. When it comes to this summer must have, bigger is almost always better, but look out for special elements and details. Bare in mind, the fit on the finger that you will be wearing it on , and keep a look out for one of a kind vintage pieces, be original...this is the key piece of jewelry for summer.

Fedisa Fashion Show

Designer Aimee Pullen

Jo Cruse and myself, backstage, about to hit the runway...

Just received a few great photos of "behind the scenes" at the Fedisa Fashion Show that went down last Saturday at Wembley Square in Cape Town. The 120 metre ramp, set out in the parking lot, with 30 graduate designers and a hundred models provided a slightly frenzied environment. The show was a great success, well done to all the designers!!!

Tom and Alex

Alright, so, part of my day job is being an au pair for the most gorgeous little 7 year old twin boys. Yesterday, T&A and I went to the Baxter Theatre Soundhouse for one of their kiddie parties. Along with eating far too many artificially coloured sweets, we made some pretty cool tunes. Mine consisted of a house/dance track, while the two of them did a rap with no shortage of sound effects :) cute hey?
